Is It An Avalanche or A Landslide?
This is Forget's 7th Birthday
words by Kent J. Bruyneel and pictures by Mike S. Lecky
Frequently Asked Questions: Is this a welcome? An introduction? How come you go so long without updating? Is 19 enough? How weird can it get and still be called love poetry? How mean? How sore? How happy? How obtuse? How old are you anyway? Is this about sex? Where is Matthew? What happened to time? Who is in charge? Who was here first? And, Jesus after seven fucking years and two days, what is it all about?
A response-at-last: It's about love. Or rather, It's a love story. Both this update and this magazine, Forget. At least for me at is. I'm not sure what Miguel or Darren, or man what Lecky would say it was all about, but for me it's about love. Especially now. Seven years is a long time.
A note on scheduling: Each of the pieces published today will be on the front page, but it will take a while. There are a lot of them. I'll change the front page not daily, but not weekly either. And not alphabetically either. By feel, man, feel. Read slow.
Finishing up (there are almost 20 things to read, after all): This update is almost dedicated to every other update we have ever done. And to everyone who has helped us do them: Thank you. But this update is actually dedicated to one person, the love of my life: her name is Shannon. She has agreed to be my wife. To her, directly: each night is better and full of more possibilities than the last one, same for the days. All because I get to breathe in the air you breathe out. All this, and everything, is for you. Forever, Kent.
