OUR ANNIVERSARY

It’s our anniversary
and you’ve hidden my keys.
“This is one anniversary
you’re spending with me.”

—Smog

Today is Forget’s nine-year anniversary. That’s like eighty-seven in internet years. We’ve had our ups and downs. Well, not downs so much as extended periods of silence. Not ups so much as gratitude for the terrific work of our contributors, for their willingness to share their work on the not-always glamorous information superhighway, where we need more content like this.

As in any relationship, dear reader, we could use the occasion to make bold promises for the year ahead: we’ll be more present. We’ll try to communicate better. But we’ve got three terrific poems and three excellent stories to share with you today. Let’s just have a little fun.

Nick Thran is a contributing editor of Forget.
